1. Overview / Key Facts

  • The recruitment is for Graduate-level NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) posts. 

  • Total vacancies: 5,810 for graduate-level posts. 

  • The recruitment is under CEN No. 06/2025.

2. Important Dates

  • Application Start Date: 21 October 2025.

  • Last Date to Apply: 20 November 2025. 

  • Last Date to Pay Application Fee: 22 November 2025. 

  • Correction Window (for certain fields): 23 November – 2 December 2025. 

  • Note: According to one report, the application date was later extended to 27 November for Graduate level.

4. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Must have a university degree or its equivalent by the closing date.

  • Candidates awaiting their final result are not eligible

Age Limit

  • As of 01 January 2026: 18 to 33 years

  • Age relaxations:

    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years 

    • SC / ST: +5 years 

    • PwBD: up to +10 / +13 / +15 years depending on category. 

    • There may also be relaxations for ex-servicemen etc. as per notification

Medical Standards

  • Posts have different medical fitness standards: A-2, B-2, or C-2 depending on the post. 

  • Visual acuity conditions are specified: e.g., for A-2: Distant vision 6/9, 6/9 without glasses, et

  • Note: Those who have had LASIK surgery may not be eligible for certain medical standards (like A-2) for some posts. 


5. Pay / Salary (Basic Pay)

Based on the 7th CPC pay levels:

  • Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor: Level 6 → ₹ 35,400 (initial) 

  • Station Master: Level 6 → ₹ 35,400 

  • Goods Train Manager: Level 5 → ₹ 29,200 

  • Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist: Level 5 → ₹ 29,200

  • Senior Clerk cum Typist: Level 5 → ₹ 29,200 

  • Traffic Assistant: Level 4 → ₹ 25,500 

(These are basic / starting pay; allowances like DA, HRA would be extra as per railway rules.)


6. Selection Process / Exam Pattern

The recruitment process has multiple stages: 

  1. 1st Stage CBT (Computer-Based Test) – common for all posts.

    • Duration: 90 minutes (120 min for scribes) 

    • Number of Questions: 100

    • Marking: Negative marking of 1/3rd of a mark for each wrong answer.

    • Topics: General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning. 

  2. 2nd Stage CBT – for those who clear stage 1.

    • Duration: 90 minutes (120 min for scribes) 

    • Questions: 120 total.

    • Sections: Likely similar subjects (GA, Maths, Reasoning) but different weightage. 

  3. Post-Specific Tests:

    • Typing Skill Test (CBTST): For posts like Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist. 

    • Aptitude Test (CBAT): For certain posts like Station Master, Traffic Assistant. 

  4. Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination for those who clear above stages. 


7. Application Fee

  • For General / OBC / EWS: ₹ 500

    • Note: ₹ 400 is refundable after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT (minus bank charges). 

  • For SC / ST / PWBD / Ex-Servicemen / Female / Transgender / Minorities / EBC: ₹ 250

    • The entire ₹ 250 is refundable after appearing in CBT-1 (again, after bank charges).


8. Other Important Points / Tips

  • While applying, choose your RRB carefully (one only). According to vacancy notifications, you must pick one RRB (railway zone) and cannot apply to multiple RRBs for the same CEN. 

  • For posts requiring typing / aptitude test, practice accordingly. These tests are “qualifying” in many cases, so be well prepared.

  • Keep in mind medical standards: different posts need different fitness. Check vision standards carefully. Ravi Gyan

  • Since there is a correction window, make sure to re-check your application details before final submission.

  • Download and keep a copy of the filled form + fee receipt for your records.

  • Regularly check the official RRB or regional RRB websites for updates, admit cards, city slips, etc. (RRB / CEN pages).
